MONMOUTH PARK RACETRACK

The Blu Grotto Ristorante at Monmouth Park features alfresco dining under glass in a new conservatory dining room. French doors open onto an outdoor dining deck that surrounds the restaurant conservatory – which takes its horseshoe shape from the racetrack itself.

The decorative wood beams in the roof and the striking blue décor adds a fanciful flair. A separate bar area sits off to the side, also under glass. This conservatory restaurant dining room is a popular attraction itself where dining is both intimate yet open. Its sheer walls of glass articulated by the insistent rhythm of the elegantly detailed woodwork.

AUBURN UNIVERSITY

This beautifully detailed steel and glass custom conservatory brings the sky and passing clouds into full view at Auburn University.

Reminiscent of nineteenth century marketplace buildings which used lightweight steel construction to span large spaces, this conservatory is used as an on-campus entertainment venue and executive retreat. One of its historic inspirations was Covent Garden Market in nineteenth century London which was designed by Charles Fowler, architect of the Great Conservatory at Syon Park.

Botanical gardens have historically been home to many beautiful conservatories and the Huntsville Botanical Garden is no exception. While an existing glass roofed butterfly house has long been a prime attraction, this glass conservatory is part of a newly renovated guest center.
