Have you met Andy, our Senior Associate for Global Sales and Design??
Andy Ruf has been with the Tanglewood Conservatories team since June 2008, and his journey with Tanglewood has only begun! Prior to joining our team, he worked for a custom furniture designer specializing in 18th and 19th-century antique replications. From the moment he joined the team, his talents shined through; first starting on the shop floor in our CNC department. For six months, Andy worked in this role then advanced to becoming an engineer, where he shifted between project lead, engineering manager, and project manager. By 2014, Andy made his way to the sales department, focusing now on being part of the design concept versus building the final design.
Andy mentioned, “At first, I was hesitant to make such a drastic change, but I quickly warmed up to the idea. Now I have been helping our clients and partners for over 7 years and it has been truly rewarding.”
Collaborating with our clients and partners often sparks unique, innovative ideas that inspire Andy and his work at Tanglewood. “When I work with our clients, it is gratifying to see their excitement build as we start to put their ideas on paper and they begin to see their visions come to life,” said Andy. “And once we get out on site and they see this structure finally become a reality, I can’t tell you how often I get calls from our clients telling me this room has instantly become their favorite room and they spend so much time in this space.”
In his free time, Andy stays busy by attending baseball games, swim meets, and soccer games for his two active kids, Callan and Maisie. He enjoys travelling around the world with his wife and kids. They also visit the historic conservatories when they can. The most recent one they got to explore was the Balboa Park Conservatory in California!
Big things are coming in 2022 for Andy and the sales team. Just before the end of 2021, Andy mentioned they started work on a few new beautiful conservatory designs – he will be excited to share them with you as they progress. They also started developing new AIA opportunities for our partners and clients to better prepare when adding these unique glass additions to homes and offices so keep an eye out!
