Are you an admirer of nature, art, and beauty?

Our clients love the fascinating interplay of light and color when they add stained glass to their conservatories. Imagine throughout the day, colorful beams of light dance across the room. From subtly colored accents, to bold art pieces encased in glass. The design is as personal as your conservatory… and your life.

One of the many things we love about stained glass is working with our clients to come up with creative designs unique to them. From beautiful mosaic art features to custom portraits that showcase their hobbies, the possibilities are endless.

…the stained glass panels that Tanglewood created for our conservatory completed, elevated the look we wanted for our conservatory. They were able to personalize the design so it perfectly reflects our unique style.

Notice in the sapele mahogany cupola above, this client played on utilizing rich multi colors like blue and red to have bright beautiful colors pour through the space when any light shone through.

Another inspiring stained glass project is the image above of the conservatory space looking out onto the clients pond. These clients spent years building their estate to be an oasis. The client and their family took the time over the years to learn the unique species of plants that were found on their property and wanted to incorporate them into their conservatory! They had a local artist custom hand-paint these glass panes to showcase each plant species around the conservatory. This allowed them to really personalize their space to their own taste and passion for nature.

The use of stained glass in historical conservatories is relatively rare however. The conservatories of the past were designed to conserve and display plant life. In a departure from tradition, the iconic Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco incorporates a row of colored panels around the base of its dome, an effect that accentuates the building in the same manner as a typical cornice.

The effect is stunning.
