The special high-performance glass is an important feature of the room. It automatically darkens when sunlight strikes its surface thereby blocking the sun’s direct rays and preventing overheating of the room.

For large scale conservatories, sections of the steel framing are often pre-fabricated off site, delivered on flatbed trucks to be set in place with a crane.

Tanglewood developed the design of this conservatory from concept sketches supplied by the project architect. The custom made steel beams were substituted for the standard tube sections that were originally specified and a classically-inspired historical theme was introduced.
