— 1 —Steel Pool House Conservatory

AT THE BEGINNING of the design process, the architect for this classic pool house conservatory made one stipulation: the conservatory must be entirely made of metal and glass — not wood. The transparency and aesthetic of nineteenth-century steel conservatories inspired his vision. Of our design — with the exposed steel roof incorporating a gentle curve to soften the space and half-round pilasters inside and out to emphasize their support — the architect noted, “the conservatory is well-proportioned and the details are just right.”

We were delighted that we had expressed his intentions perfectly and upon completion, Architectural Digest magazine published a full-page interior photograph of the room.

Tanglewood is hired by some of the world’s best architects because they recognize our understanding and our dedication to great design. When we work for an outside architect, our job is to make them look great!
